We’ll be kicking things off on November 4 with our Opening Keynote Speaker Neel Shah, MD, MPP, FACOG and his presentation “Growing A Family With Dignity”. Dr. Shah  is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School, and Director of the Delivery Decisions Initiative at Harvard's Ariadne Labs. His presentation will share information and insights gained from his 5 years of research. Attendees will learn about how we can create change, what gaps exist, and the impact that can be made when we focus on growing families with dignity.

Our main conference presentations will cover key topics including managing pre-eclampsia, exercise during pregnancy, maternal cardiac disease, mental health, and more. Wrapping up our live presentations will be our Closing Keynote event on November 18. Wendy Jones, PHD MRPHARMS will present “Breastfeeding and Medication. Are They Compatible?”. Dr. Jones’ work has been invaluable to health care providers working with breastfeeding families. Her 30 years in the field of lactation have spanned work as a community pharmacist, as a breastfeeding peer supporter, as an author, and more. During this presentation, attendees will refresh their understanding of pharmacokinetics and will examine specific chronic conditions which may be encountered in practice.

We’re getting ready for GOLD Perinatal online conference 2019 and we can’t wait to share this fantastic event with you! This year’s conference is packed with expert speakers from the field of perinatal health, and their presentations are brimming with practice-changing information.

This year’s conference will take place from October 1 to December 2, 2019. We’ll kick things off on October 1 with our Opening Keynote Speaker Sarah Buckley, M.B, Ch.B; Dip Obst. Dr. Buckley has been a writer and speaker in the field since 1997, and she has a special interest in the hormonal physiology of labour and birth. Her presentation “Induction of Labor: Hormonal Costs and Consequences for Mothers and Babies” will us give insight into the bigger picture of induction. Attendees will learn how hormonal physiology is impacted and what long-term effects we might see in these dyads.

The main conference includes 15.5 hours of accredited education focused on improving care for families in the perinatal period. On October 28, our Closing Keynote Speaker Adriana Lozada, AdvCD(DONA), CSC, CEMC, CBP will present “Destination Laborland: Setting a Fresh Course Towards Physiological Birth”. Adriana brings her multi-layered and multi-cultural background into her work, and she is inspired by her passion for birth advocacy. Her lecture offers us an opportunity to explore a new model of birth that supports parents in using new tools and looking inwards during the birth process.
