Having in-depth knowledge about clinical lactation tools should be a part of any lactation professional’s toolbox. In this session we will review evidence and clinical application of tools such as nipple shields, cup feeding, finger feeding, at-breast supplementation and bottles. Feeding-related tools may be needed during lactation for a variety of reasons but what are the benefits and risks? We will explore critical thinking strategies for tool selection.
