The cardiovascular system provides valuable information for the neonatal provider. Through palpation and inspection, and auscultation a provider can determine not only the general health including hemodynamic stability but also the presence of any congenital or iatrogenic cardiovascular abnormalities. In this module we define frequently used cardiovascular terminology, explain cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, describe the process of a neonatal cardiovascular exam, and list common neonatal cardiovascular conditions.
