Abstract:

A seasoned midwife sometimes encounters unusual situations in clinical practice. In these unique case studies, we will consider the challenges of paravaginal birth, uterus didelphys, cervical myoma, and acute urinary retention in the second trimester.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss maternal conditions that would predispose to paravaginal delivery.

2. Discuss pregnancy considerations for the person with a uterus didelphys.

4. Describe the signs and symptoms of acute urinary retention secondary to a retroflexed uterus in a pregnant person.
