Abstract:
This module helps students to put the principles of aromatherapy and its uses during maternity into practice. It consists of instructive video demonstrations of basic essential oil applications, dilutions, related research, and DIY projects.
Learning Objectives:
1. Compile simple essential oil formulations using course recommendations for specific essential oils, carriers, and dilutions that are specific to common discomforts that arise during pregnancy.
2. Explain safety precautions related to blending essential oils and describe how to maintain the potency of their formulations.
3. Describe how essential oils are absorbed into the body, the pathways that they take through the body for each of these ways, and their pathways of elimination.
