Joanna is a CPM with a practice in East Central Appalachia. She is a preceptor for NARM, and conducts workshops quarterly for midwifery students from all around the region. When a hypoxic insult occurs during labor or birth, a syndrome of consequences often presents as a sequelae. In this lecture we will define hypoxia, hypoglycemia and hypothermia and understand how one of these can create a cascade of consequences involving the other two.
