
Improving Care, Improving Outcomes: Quality Improvement for Midwives
In celebration of International Day of the Midwife 2025, GOLD Learning is excited to welcome Dr. Jessica Brumley PhD, CNM, FACNM as she shares her new presentation titled "Improving Care, Improving Outcomes: Quality Improvement for Midwives". Dr. Brumley is a certified nurse-midwife, researcher, educator, and leader in the field of maternal health. She has been a local, regional, and national leader in the American College of Nurse Midwives and is the current President. She has practiced clinically for over 20 years and is the Director of the Division of Midwifery at the University of South Florida. She is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Health Equity in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Brumley feels strongly that midwives are perfectly poised to identify and lead the change needed to improve our healthcare system and improve the safety of care in our communities. Quality improvement is the systematic approach that is guided by data to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery. Jessica Brumley PhD, CNM, FACNM is a certified nurse-midwife, researcher, educator, and leader in the field of maternal health. She has been a local, regional, and national leader in the American College of Nurse Midwives and is the current President. She has practiced clinically for over 20 years and is the Director of the Division of Midwifery at the University of South Florida. She is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Health Equity in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Brumley is passionate about improving health equity for women and reducing racial and ethnic disparities in pregnancy outcomes.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the New York University School of Nursing with a master’s degree in Midwifery program and Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Florida College of Nursing with a PhD.
Dr. Brumley is an expert in midwifery care and has extensive experience teaching medical students, residents, and nurse practitioner students with a special focus on normal physiologic birth. She has presented nationally and has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on issues related to midwifery, weight gain in pregnancy, and racial disparities in healthcare

This presentation will review the critical steps and tools for creating change through a quality improvement science lens.

How much time do I have to view the presentations?
- The viewing time will be specified for each product. When you purchase multiple items in your cart, the viewing time becomes CUMULATIVE. Ex. Lecture 1= 2 weeks and Lecture Pack 2 = 4 Weeks, you will have a total of 6 weeks viewing time for ALL the presentations made in that purchase.

What are bundled lectures?

Some lectures will be available in both individual and lecture form, whereas others will be available only via a bundled lecture pack.
Will there be Handouts?
- YES! Each lecture comes with a PDF handout provided by the Speaker.
Some lectures include a Q&A, what does that mean?
- During our online conferences, presentations that occur live are also followed by a short 15 minute Question & Answer Session. The Speaker addresses questions that were posted by Delegates during the presentation. We include the recording of these Q&A Sessions as a bonus for you.
How can I receive a Certificate?
- If this presentation offers a certificate, once you are done viewing the lecture or the lectures within a bundle, submit your attendance record in order to be able to download your certificate.
